So turns out my busy time of years seems to be now, not summer like other florists. Most likely as most of my work involves autumnal colours and greens like this time of year... its been incredible! Completely, utterly and entirely exhausting but also completely, utterly and entirely amazing. Hired a 2nd member of staff, Summer, who is so crazy artistic it blows me away! She is so interested and into foraging, making, flowers and growing that I'm gonna be learning loads from her over time too! She's also expecting a little bubba so its been lovely having fresh flowers, wild ideas and a fresh wild human in the mix too :)
Once my season quietens a little (looks like mid December) i will have lots of time to update my site with ALL iv been up to this year, its been hard to catch a breath between weddings, moving house (...i know, i move a lot) and custom illustration and wedding invites. I couldn't be more grateful though. Iv done quite a few custom orders for stationary this year and have lots for next year too so will be making a new section on my site for showing all of this soon.
Some of these photos include photoshoots, Glen Coe, recent wedding bouquets, a wedding with alpacas! and some recent botanical paintings iv been working on. Im really missing painting and drawing so iv been spending some evenings painting from sketches i made on forest walks and trails recently, its where Tupelo Tree started back in 2011 and weddings have taken over, but only because it requires all my brain power and energy. Im slowly beginning to manage the workload, iv not yet managed to master shutting off at the end of the day so thats my current goal for now - to be able to leave my work at the studio! Big task.
Iv got some cool weddings left for this year, involving some dark caves, rooms made out of greenery (SUPER excited about this one), very botanical surroundings and a very christmassy warm wedding mid December with cosy fireplaces and colours! Its a good year for Tupelo Tree, can't even describe my excitement for 2017...
