Where do i begin with this gorgeous wedding... I met Stuart and Amy in my first year of Tupelo Tree, we had our consultation in the rain under an umbrella in Edinburgh where we discussed all the ideas of a Scottish and South African themed 20s wedding. Amy was keen to use huge king proteas being the south african national flower and we included thistles to accent the scottish.
I was incredibly excited getting to drive right through Edinburgh castle in my van on the day! Some of the narrowest gates with only 2 inches either side to squeeze through! Stuart and Amu were married in a long luxurious room with lush greenery down each aisle, wild arrangements at the entrance and end too. I loved getting to use soft pinks and greens with these huge proteas, such a cool flower to use! I tied the trial bouquet with natural plant dyed silk ribbon (which flows like a dream in the wind!)
I also had the pleasure of designing a set of wedding stationary designs for this couple, we used 20s borders and a beautiful straight and script fonts. There was a custom proteas and thistle design (which looked awesome!) and my favourite part was the individual place card settings with this design on them!
It was a gorgeous sunny day, when i delivered the flowers to Amy and her maids, it was a blur of excitement getting ready, everyone getting their hair and makeup done in the pj's all gushing over the boxes of flowers i brought in. One of the best parts of a wedding is showing the bridal bouquet as its one of the main pieces in the day and will be a part of their theme and in their wedding photos forever!
