Jen & Kirsty got married on a truley gorgeous day up in the beautiful Loch leven's Larder up in Perth. It was a double happy day as it was also my birthday, so i was in a super happy mood setting up their gorgeous wedding which was full of pinks and greens, with huge peonies and very autumnal oak leaves.
It was a small intimate cemermony followed by a big party and meal in the gorgeously quirky room (which if you've been, you'll have seen the plastic legs and knickers round the room as fun decorations!). The hall was decorated with a greenery archway, an elaborate cake i decorated, baked by the talented Mrs Jones Cakes, mismatched tables and chairs. I lined the tables with leaves, filled jars of little white flowers and metalic pots with delicate pink blooms.
The ceremony room had a beautiful big window overlooking fields and the sky, probably my favourite part of the flowers (and most fiddly) was the suspended orchids from the beams in the ceiling! It was a little tricky with the wind when the door was opened but well worth it for the effect of the floating flowers for the marriage ceremony.
When i met with the brides, there was an ongoing joke about me having a cape and being some crazy caped florist and swooshing around all day... It was just a funny ongoing joke, that turned into something so lovely - when i was finishing seting up for the wedding, the mother of the bride approached me with a bag and said i had to open it now. She had made me my own cape!!
It was a pleasure to design and create flowers for this beautiful family, they were all so full of love and were such a beautiful example of what weddings should be about :)
